ABOUT SENIOR PASTOR
PASTOR GAZZARA MITCHELL
Pastor Gazzara Mitchell was born and raised in Walton County. He graduated from Monroe Area High School Monroe, Georgia. At the age of twelve years he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life and was baptized Mars Hill Baptist Church in Social Circle. He later joined the First African Baptist Church in Monroe under the leadership of Pastor Clarence Grier, Jr. He is currently under the leadership of Bishop Jerry F. Hutchins, Kingdom Now Ministries in Lithonia, Georgia.
After graduating from High School, he attended the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. He later enlisted into the United States Army and was medical honorably retired after four years of service. He also attended Luther Rice Seminary and Bible College. He received a Bachelor’s Degree of Theology from Gathering of the Saints International Bible Institute. He answered his call to the ministry in 1989. He was licensed in 1989 and ordained in September 1993. In 1997 he became the Pastor of Fairplay Baptist Church in Hull, Georgia. After 5 years of faithful service, the Lord moved him to Bethel Baptist Church, Watkinsville, Georgia for 4 years until the Lord shifted him to start New Covenant Ministries, Monroe, Georgia. He was the Senior Pastor of the Upper Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Jeffersonville, Georgia for 12 years. He is currently the Senior Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church, Covington, Ga.
Pastor Mitchell is a family man and enjoys sports of all kinds. He is married to the former Darlene Cooper where together they have four children, Kwinnesha, Shakeeria, Gazzara Jr. and Ahmad and six grandchildren. He is a member of Tuscan Lodge #38 Free & Accepted Masons and serves as an official for the Northeast Georgia High School Basketball Association and is a member of Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship under the Leadership of Bishop Paul S. Morton and Bishop Joseph Walker.
Pastor Mitchell’s main objective in life is to exercise his gifts in the ministry and broadcast the Gospel to call sinners to repentance.
